Hello, everyone. My name is “Brownie”. I am 4 years old and a very active and enthusiastic young lady. I am full of energy and enjoy the outdoor life. I weigh 38 pounds and have a beautiful wavy coat. I enjoy chasing squirrels as well as a game of tennis balls with my foster siblings. I am very busy during the day, but evenings will find me snuggling on the sofa with my people.
I follow my foster dad everywhere...I am not quite clear on the concept of “personal space” and want to be right by him all the time! (I like my foster mom, too, but Dad is home with me most, so I stick to him like glue!) Actually, I have liked all the people I have met since coming into BSR once I got to know them; I can be a bit shy at first. I like other dogs, and I especially like my foster cat, even though he sometimes gives me corrections! And, I look forward to beach time and backyard time with my humans, of course.
I believe I am quite smart and have some skills to report. I know when to SIT- before a meal and when asked. I am learning about the leash, but it’s a work in progress. I am crate trained and will happily go there when asked. I am learning to retrieve. I am working on things like COME and STAY.
I am certainly not perfect. I love my people so very much that I forget that jumping up on them when they come home is frowned upon, but I’m learning. Please don’t judge me, but I have had a few “potty indiscretions” in the house. I’m still getting used to being an inside dog….oh and I love the fireplace. Sometimes I try my hand at counter surfing and have quickly learned that is not allowed.
I am usually tired at night and like to have a treat and go into my kennel around 9:30 P.M. I sleep well and am always recharged and ready to go by 8 A.M. I like to have my people home, but I have learned that they always come back. I am more comfortable when I know where they are at all times.
I would like access to a pond, lake or the beach. Swimming is a blast and helps burn off my boundless energy. A fenced yard is required because I like to be outside and don’t want to get lost. I need my people to play with me, talk to me, pet me, snuggle me and just tell me how fabulous I am. A home with older, responsible children would be fine. If you can provide all this while still having another dog in the house that won’t be jealous, we can talk. A kitty in the house would be nice. P.S. My foster mom says to make sure you have lots of patience and good hinges on the back door, because I can wear them both out by my constant in and out the door game!! Thank you for reading about me. I am a very special girl!
Sometimes she grabs the blanket she came with from her crate and holds it walking around the house. One of the pictures is of her and Jake playing at dog daycare! They love each other, and she even does fantastic with the cat, Toby.
