BIO: Jack, affectionately called "one eyed Jack" came into care as a very young pup, born with only one eye but an exuberant nature! He had been in many homes and needed that perfect home that would allow him to be the best version of himself. He did need some medical rehabilitation for his eye, to make sure he wouldn't develop problems in the future.
Jack unfortunately passed through many homes before finding his forever home, having proved too rambunctious to his first foster and too allergy-provoking for his first adopter. Finally, a volunteer transporting him back to his last foster proved to be the one!
2020 UPDATE: Thanks to BSR for Jacks “gotcha day” card. He’s been with us 3 years and turns 4 in a few days.
We got Jack when he was 11 months. We were his transporters back into care after his adopter's families allergies forced them to return him to BSR. In those few hours on the road, we fell in love with him and asked to help stop the cycle of bouncing in and out of homes by adopting him ourselves. So at 11 months, having been bounced around and feeling very unsure, having separation anxiety and needing LOTS of exercise to burn off all that Boykin boy energy, he came to live with us.
We live on a lake so he swims everyday in warm weather and walk/runs about 5 miles in the winter. 1 eye hasn’t stopped him a bit except for an occasional bump into something on his blind side. He can retrieve, dock dive and chase a ball just like his 2 eyed cousins....Life is good! Mickey, Frank and Jack Addison
