Elmer (who sticks like glue to his foster) came into care after 5 years of HW+ status but no owner treatment. He spent most of his life in a boarding situation, and his skin was in bad shape. Many weeks into care, Elmer has emerged from his "shut down" emotional state to become a loving, happy and playful boykin. His skin and coat are vastly approved, but he is not a candidate for a traditional HW treatment plan. He was on 2 heartguards a month for 3 months, now is down to once a month.
