PFC Lucy
Lucy is a senior dog that came into BSR's care at 10.5 years old in March 2024 completely un-socialized and scared of strangers and had no verifiable vet history to work from. Her ears were thickened and painful from years of untreated infections. In order to get her to the vet to begin her wellness journey, she had to be heavily medicated, and the experience was traumatic for all. Slowly, with patient and loving care from her fosters, she allowed treatment for her ears, and as the pain lessened, she became a much more agreeable patient! However, the ear infections persisted, and eventually she required a total ear canal ablation (TECA) surgery to help her ears drain and stay clear. Lucy has come a long way from her frightened beginnings and now allows her foster to handle her with no problems and has become a very loving and loyal dog.
