Milo J was a born with severe birth defects resulting from a viral infection transmitted in utero. With only one eye, no paw pads and immature skeletal structure, Milo faced an uphill battle from the get-go. His owner bottle fed him until it seemed certain he would thrive, then turned him over to Boykin Spaniel Rescue (BSR). Under our care, Milo has developed into a fairly "normal" young male Boykin, albeit blind and with luxating patellas and a dysplastic hip. He's been trained with a a specialist who helped his fosters learn to use his other senses to overcome his lack of vision, and they have also learned how to structure their home to ensure his safety. Despite the odds, he is happy, playful and typical Boykin!
