PFC Shake

​Shake was 4 1/2 years old when she was turned over to BSR in 2023 after experiencing a traumatic injury to her lower spine. Once in BSR's care, the neurologist evaluating her determined that the damage was beyond repair and even with surgery, she had less than a 15% chance of ever walking again. The decision was made not to put her through surgery, having such a poor prognosis of ever walking again. Although Shake is unable to walk, she is able to hold herself up and has a wheelchair to assist her. Early in 2024, Shake underwent emergency pyometra surgery for an infection in her uterus. Through it all, Shake remains happy and is loved beyond measure by her permanent foster family.
