Bio: My name is Mia and I am a female Boykin, about 1 yr old and weighing 32lb. I am quite good looking with a smooth coat and sparkling eyes! I was much loved in my life prior to Boykin Spaniel Rescue, and that comes across in my personality. My foster mom says I am the most fun loving little girl anyone could ever wish to meet! Better than anything I love playing with her foster canine brothers and learning how to please my her mom. I sure have learned a lot since I have been living in my foster home! I have learned all the basic obedience commands and to love my crate as my safe zone at night. I have lots and lots of energy and high potential to learn any sport, scent work and maybe even hunting. I love being active and running all over the yard, jogging in the morning with my foster mom and most of all, learning anything new you are willing to teach me. My foster mom says I have the sweetest, loving demeanor. I love nothing more than to snuggle up on the couch and receive belly rubs and give kisses. I am very loyal and I follow my foster mom everywhere she goes. When the leash goes on I think it’s a race to see who can get there first, so my foster mom is working with me on not pulling. She says I have improved a lot , but occasionally I get overly excited and I jump up for attention. I am currently living with 5 other dogs from large breed to small breed and even a cat. My foster brothers are my best friends especially the Belgian Malinois. We run around the yard and I jump all over my brother playing and chasing toys and swimming in the pool together. I have no aggression towards any other animal, children or people. I would be the perfect companion for someone with a very active lifestyle. I really don’t want to be left alone, so if you work it would be great to have other four legged companions that would keep me company. I would love a fenced in yard because I love being outdoors and playing. But I want to be outside and playing with you. I have learned so much in the past few months but I will need continual training to keep my mind active to prevent me from getting bored. I need lots of exercise and mental stimulation too. If you are committed to giving me all these things, I will be your loyal companion.
2022 Update:
She is a superior companion for our family. Runs hard all day and sleeps like a baby at night. Everyone knows her on the Island as being a sweetheart. She has great hunting instincts and is very obedient. Loves to hop into the pickup truck and go visiting.. We were blessed to have her become part of our family!
