Chance's Bio: Meet Chance , a sweet 9 yr old, male Boykin. He is very handsome with his shinny brown coat and 36lbs he is a bundle of love. He stands tall and has a funny little bark. An outside dog in his previous life, Chance is still learning inside manners.
Chance has arthritis in his hips but is on medication (and will continue to need medication for the remainder of his life) that seems to be helping. The arthritis doesn’t slow Chance down very much. He loves to go on walks with his two foster dogs and he likes to play ball and go on boat rides. He loves to cuddle most of all and is always looking for his foster Mom. He does not like a crate and is not completely house broken yet, since he still marks inside. He does not like younger dogs or cat's, and has shown signs of aggression with both. Chance hasn't been around children much but he has trust issues and anxiety so his humans need to be careful around any stranger and manage the interaction. He is fine with the vet. He likes sleeping on his bed next to yours.
July 2018 Update! by Sharon Duncan
Dear Friends at BSR,
I am doing great! I love my family, especially my Mom, and I have gotten pretty close to Dad. When I first came I was real protective of Mom so I had to go to school and learn that not every one was going to try and take her away. I am doing much better. She will tell me No when I try to get the cat. I listen but don't really want to. I have a brother Rusty(Boykin), a sister Muffy (terrier) and two cats. I have a big orange ball that I carry with me everywhere. We go for walks, boat rides and I will get in lake, but I am not much for swimming. My brother can swim for hours but I just like to get cooled off. My little sister doesn't like to swim either. She is somewhat of a pain, gets a little snippy when I am on couch with Mom if I move around. My Mom really loves me a lot. We snuggle on the couch, I sleep with her, my Dad & my brother but no cats aloud. My Mom will some pictures so you can see how handsome I am but will have to do by phone.Thank you for checking on me.
