BSR Alum Charlie Brown 1139 Charlie was pulled from a Georgia shelter matted, dirty and sick with heartworms. His condition was fairly advanced, so getting him clear of the worms to stop the on-going heart and lung damage was priority one! That process took 5 months; and, when he was medically cleared, he was adopted as a "special needs" dog by his fosters.
Post-Adoption Update by Christine Caldwell
He has been a wonderful addition to our family. He is spunky, funny, and a joy. He can be full of energy and love playing with his toys at times and just as cuddly when he’s chilling.
Although he has recovered from his heartworm disease, he does seem to have some residual damage so he does tire out from his spirited running around while playing with his toys, but overall he is doing great.
We found out last year on one of our camping trips to the lake that he loves the water!! It’s was the cutest thing watching him and we believe he had not been in the water to play prior to that just by the way he acted. We are so happy we were able to foster and adopt him. Thank you for all you do to help these lovable little brown dogs!! Chrissy Caldwell
