BSR "Cutter" by Nancy and Alan Sikes
February 2020 Update!
After waiting for 2 years, Cutter became available. Allan traveled a ways into Georgia just to see him and of course, he brought him home. We adopted him in February of 2015. Poor thing - he was surrendered 2 times before he came to live with us. All he wanted was a forever home and found it with us. Arthritis has slowed him down, but with the help of our wonderful veterinarians (Charles Groover and Charlie Timmerman), he is doing well. He goes for morning and evening walks with my husband, but his favorite thing to do is ride on the golf cart with us. We usually ride everyday in our neighborhood and all the neighbors know and love him. His best friend is our Grand dog Cooper (which is also a Boykin). We are so blessed that Cutter came into our lives. I love BSR!!!!

We had previously had two Boykins, who were family to us. We were looking to add to our family and Eric Grubbs introduced my husband to Cutter, and fell in love with him. Sight unseen to me, he brought him home, had him clipped (My first thought had been "this isn't a Boykin. Too big and no curls!"). Feeling nervous and anxious, he wanted to please us and be accepted. Apparently, he had been in two homes before BSR. The previous owners had wanted a hunting dog and Cutter wasn't a part of that. He just wanted to be loved! He has found a forever home with us...we, being retired and wanting a companion, have fallen in love with him. He and his adopted Cocker Spaniel sister, Cocoa, are great together. He loves his toys, riding in the golf cart, and chasing the sprinkler. Oh, and of course, he is our faithful companion, following step for step everywhere we go!!
