BSR Alums "Dixie, Camden & Banks" by Thomas Dyer
For over 20 years my wife Margaret, bred and raised Boykin Spaniels and we always kept on female from the last litter to keep the line going. However, we failed on our last female, Demi, who passed away before we could have her last litter. That led my wife to The Boykin Spaniel Rescue and she found a female named Dixie online. Dixie had been abandoned and had been picked up by animal control. They contacted BSR and she was immediately taken in by two wonderful ladies in Charleston to be her foster parents. Margaret contacted them and requested consideration. We followed with adoption and bought her to our home in Stuart, Fl in April of 2006. Last July, BSR contacted Margaret about a brother and sister who were four years old and were being given up for adoption by their young owners. We expressed our interest and have now had Camden and Banks for over a year and they bring joy to our lives everyday. They love boat rides and swimming very much. This photo shows our Clan and my wife during her last day of chemo and radiation treatments for breast cancer. It was a special day.
