“Ellie Virginia” was a 10-month-old female weighing approximately 34 pounds when she came into BSR's care. She was a typical, high-energy, adolescent Boykin full of mischief and in need of lots of training and attention. When she came to BSR, she had a fear of new people and situations (lack of socialization) but was exceptionally smart, very affectionate, athletic and loyal.
With her fosters, Ellie learned to love a new activity called "swimming" (oh the joy of water!!) and even learned to love the resident cat! But, her exuberant puppy behavior of jumping and nipping when greeted needed a great deal of training to give her improved people skills. When looking for her forever home, she primarily needed her new family to continue giving her the love and attention she required and to stay on top of her training.

2021 Update:
Thank you very much for the Gotcha Day card !
Ellie is a dream dog! She gives us such joy with her love and high energy! She sleeps in the bed with us, sleeps on the couch during the day and enjoys treats when not sleeping. Ellie is our 3rd BSR rescue Boykin and different from Hershey and Bella; but, they are all so loving.
Ellie’s highlight for the day is going to the airport to pick up mama (Frances is Flight Attendant). Ellie does not like traveling in the car but has learned when she gets in that good things happen, like picking up Mama!
To keep her energies in check, she gets a minimum of a 2 1/2 mile walk each morning. She reluctantly crawls off the down comforter but enjoys every step of exercise.
