Juliette Jake's Amazing Story by Al & Kathy English
Biography Jake was 18 months old and heartworm positive when he came into rescue, but was also a HIGH energy boykin that needed a lot of creative fostering while he was treated for the heartworms and unable to be active. He also exhibited some separation anxiety. But since getting the all clear, Jake began running daily with his foster mom to help burn off some of his normal young dog energy. He also showed himself to be quick study in retrieving and swimming.
Jake's cheif needs were for a home where his humans would be committed to working with him on obedience training and retrieving so that he could reach his full Boykin potential. After interviewing a great many applicants, Jake found a forever home near the water and a family on the go to keep him active and happy!
April 2018 Update!
"Juliette Jake" (Blues Brothers fan), BSR alum 1004, is a happy, healthy 2-year old. He still shows some anxiety at times, but overall is much more secure. Jake loves to ride. Any destination is fine, just so he's in a vehicle with his family. While he resists going out in the rain, any lake or river is his friend, no matter how cold. We just celebrated our 1-year mark with Jake, and there's no doubt that we are the ones who benefited most from this match. Our thanks to everyone at BSR for all you do!
