Leia came into BSR's care along with her brother, Chewy as young and VERY energetic pups! Of the two, Leia, was more meek and noise sensitive than Chewy, and his robust personality sometimes dominated when they were together. And like siblings will sometimes do, they might argue over who got there first when chasing the same bird or squirrel. Once her foster found that their personalities were so different, BSR began looking for a home for Leia where she could blossom in her own right, and be the princess she deserved to be! She was little lover when the sun went down, wanting nothing more than to cuddle and nestle in beside her people, but when the sun came up and she could see birds and squirrels, she was off to the races, running and playing like the happy young Boykin she was!!
September 2019 Update!
Thank you so much for the card. I love my forever home, Dad and mom were very easy to train! I love my big step sister Babe (a 14yr old black lab) and my cat Skunk who knocks things onto the ground for me when Dad's not looking. This doesn't happen when Mom's around because she is smart enough to put things away. I also like hanging out with my best friend Bauer who lives down the street, he is a rescue too, and a little younger than me. He is a funny yellow color, but that's ok. We go running in the park and down to the river every weekend. I go everywhere with Mom and Dad, we've been to North Carolina a bunch of times and I always get to go out on the boat. When I'm down there I play on the beach, but I have to keep my lead on because I don't always know where I am. When I am on the river at home I get to play with out it on, but I have to wear my life jacket when we're moving.
I didn't know what snow was at first, but I love it. The chipmunks are hiding under the white blanket but I can sniff them out.
Mom and Dad hoped I would perk up my step sister Babe as she got older, she is 14 now, a little slower, but still happy all the time. Mission accomplished!
I hope my brother Chewie is doing well in his forever home too.
