A female Boykin who was heartworm positive and starving was rescued by BSR and not known to have been pregnant. She (Kara) had a litter of pups shortly after her intake in 2012. BSR Pawley Island Boy was one of the seven pups and Paw is now living in Boiling Springs, SC.
Paw has a fantastic personality and loves to retrieve on both land and in water. Whether bumpers or birds it is easy to see his desire to please. His hyper, yet addictive and loving personality is a pleasure for all who meet him. He gets along with everyone he meets, no matter whether human or animal, although his dad is the only one that gets his full attention.
He had an incredible drive and desire to work and please at an early age so he started training for Hunt Tests and Field Trials. Before the age of two he received his HRC Started title. By two and a half he received his HRC Seasoned title as well as Upland Hunter title. He was also the winner of the 2014/2015 CBSRC Upland Shooting Dog of the Year. By age three he received the AKC title of Master Hunter and then Master Hunter Advanced (there are less than 10 Boykins in history with this title). In April 2016 and 2017 at the BSS Nationals he was awarded 1st place in Upland Roustabout Doubles. On March 11, 2017, Paw received his HRCH title, making him the first Boykin rescue in history to achieve the HRC title. He is also a two time CBSRC Upland shooting dog of the year 14/15 and 17/18.
Paw is the most loyal companion I could have ever hoped for and is always demonstrating unconditional love and devotion to the person he now owns and rescued.
Paw is CBSRC's 2017Upland Dog of the Year for the 2nd time!
