BSR #844 Sadie by Laine Dreher
Sadie Belle (Rosie when she was with BSR) had come to the rescue as a young pup with a bad knee problem. Although she had a luxating patella, she could run like the wind with her affected leg hitched up, and was already very socialized and family friendly. She was adopted by us when we had our sweet boy Spencer, and they were about 4 weeks or so apart in age . In 2017, all of our hearts were broken when Spencer developed a type of cancer and was gone in six weeks. Since then we’ve added Josie & Jackson to the pack and under Sadie’s tutelage, they have learned to be good pack citizens, that cats and horses (and sometimes chickens) are for chasing, and that the sound of the wind triggers barking! Sadie has adapted well to that upheaval in her life…we got Josie first and she was like, okay I can support this and then about 6 weeks later came Jackson and she was like really?!? He just adores her though and they’ve settled in as a unit. She does know where to slip off to for a nice nap to escape the crazy youngsters though. She loves everyone and on our beach trips she is like the ambassador of Hillsboro, GA and has to greet and make friends with everyone we see on the beach!
