2019 Christmas Ornament "Handsome Harry"
2019 Christmas Ornament
This year's ornament is in Memory of BSR's first Permanent Foster Care dog, BSR #541 Handsome Harry--a true "Miracle" dog. Harry came into Boykin Spaniel Rescue's care in 2009 suffering from a myriad of severe health issues. Harry was high heart worm + with an enlarged heart and liver; had a severe skin infection which had left him mostly hairless and infections in his eyes and ears as well; and had broken teeth. In addition to his physical health challenges, Harry was crate aggressive and had a distrust of people, except his foster mom. Adeline Tucker. With the love, dedication and incredible care of Adeline and Kenny Tucker; help from our own Junior Volunteer, Olivia (Adeline and Kenny's granddaughter); and Dr. Blackwood, Dr. Krista Kahuda and Dr. Randy Thomas, who, along with Harry's family, never gave up on him, Harry persevered and thrived during his ten years with the Tuckers and became beloved by all who met him or read about him. Handsome Harry was truly A "Miracle" Dog. This photo is a favorite of us all, and was taken when he held court at SEWE in 2018.
