Tracer came into BSR's care as a dog that had abundant energy and very little manners. As such, he had a hard time settling down around children, especially when they were also rambunctious. He had never learned that they weren't pups in his pack and had to be taught all about socialization and basic manners. But, he took to his fosters' training readily. He was still a very energetic Boykin; but, in foster care he was given the opportunity to channel his energy into activities that satisfied his need for mental and physical activity, and he began to settle down to the family routine quickly.
2021 Update!
Hi! I just got Tracer’s gotcha day card. He is sitting right next to me as I read it to him. I call him "shadow." Tracer is doing well. Very spoiled, especially since we lost Sheldon. After Sheldon passed, Tracer was depressed and whined for about 2 weeks. Then I think he realized he was top dog now. Lol.
My mom got a new Boykin puppy. Tracer tried to eat her a few times, but after about a week, he got use to her and now they are buddies. Actually, he just ignores her while she jumps on him and bites his tail 😂
He is a very happy dog. He loves his walks, antlers, and being nosy looking out the window. He loves laying on the back of the chair. We are happy that he is ours.
