Bio: Hello! My name is Woodrow and I am a curious romantic lover boy, who will make you smile every day. I am 2 years old and weigh 32 pounds. My hair is beautiful and silky with curls coming on top of my head.
Exploring is my thing. I just love the great outdoors. Nothing escapes my notice inside the house or out. I love adventures; parks, jogging trails, woods, farms, ranches, etc. all full of new tastes, scents and experiences. I am a fabulous off-leash walker. My foster family has lots of places where we can walk off-leash. I come right away when called. (I will need to practice walking with a leash) I love meeting new people and new dogs.I am a 2 yr old, so my energy level is high but not off the charts. Most of all, I am a hopeless romantic. I LOVE to love. Anywhere you go, I will go. I love to cuddle, nap with you, sit with you, keep you company while you work. You never have to ask me twice to love bug with you. I am happy to have you rub my tummy for hours. I wake up happy every morning and stay that way all day long.
I am crate trained and I will not bug you in the kitchen or beg while you eat. A heavy hand or harsh voice will not work with me and will scare me or shut me down. I do NOT liked to be spanked or yelled at all. Men are fine, but I do not connect with them the same way I do women. Respectful children are ok with me.
I am looking for someone who is active, home most of the time and looking for an “all the time” companion. My ideal day is spent with you, going on outdoor adventures, getting good exercise both morning and evening, keeping you company while you work, sharing down time in the evening and getting up the next day to do it all again. I love living in a non-urban area because I love to explore, watch the birds and sit in the sunlight. A big backyard and lots of other outdoor exercise options are a must. I will be fine with another 4 legged brother or sister, but I would be happy being the only dog too…..all the loving for me!
May 2020 Update
It has been on my "to-do" list to check in and send a Woodrow update! He is doing so so well and is just my best friend. We have actually had quite a bit of new adventures lately. And since the Corona - my new job has been super super busy!! Everyone wants to bring their pets to the vet now that they are home.
This summer I re-applied to veterinary school, and was still unsuccessful with getting in, so I decided to move back to Raleigh, NC and started working at Trinity Animal Hospital in Holly Springs, NC as a veterinary assistant. So I am just going to keep applying till I get accepted somewhere! My new job is just 15 min south of Raleigh. So Woodrow and I are back in Raleigh, I have my horse there too! Woodrow comes to work with me everyday, and does Doggy Day Care at work, (He has lots of friends - and is a "favorite" at work) (he has a springer spaniel friend - named Blanton who also does Doggy Day Care - haha!) and then on our days off we usually head out to the barn or go walking. He enjoys swimming, digging holes and chasing squirrels and the goats at the farm ahah! There are lots of trails around Raleigh so Woodrow and I go on lots and lots of walks. I am still working on his hunting training, just have been bit slack lately with work being so busy with the virus. But he is still getting there. He is so keen for some squirrels - just got to get him used to the gun.
Exciting news too - Woodrow just got his teeth cleaned at work a couple weeks ago, so it was fun to help and be part of his procedure.
