Woodrow was an energetic, 2 year old male that was a little too much "go" for his previous owners. Once they found out that Boykin Spaniel Rescue would be able to help him find a family better suited to his high energy needs, they made the loving decision to surrender him to BSR.
Indeed, in care, Woodrow was always very curious and busy. He noticed EVERYTHING, and was always read to investigate new things and go new places. But Woodrow also had a very loving nature, and wanted to be right where his fosters were so that they could all enjoy the fun and have some good cuddles and kisses mixed in as well! Woodrow especially loved females, and quickly became known in his foster family as a real Romeo!
He loved the outdoors and wide open spaces, so his fosters concentrated on finding a family to give him everything he enjoyed, and a mommy of his own to love on!
May 2020 Update
Hello hello!
It has been on my "to-do" list to check in and send a Woodrow update! He is doing so so well and is just my best friend. We have actually had quite a bit of new adventures lately. And since the Corona - my new job has been super super busy!! Everyone wants to bring their pets to the vet now that they are home.
This summer I re-applied to veterinary school, and was still unsuccessful with getting in, so I decided to move back to Raleigh, NC and started working at Trinity Animal Hospital in Holly Springs, NC as a veterinary assistant. So I am just going to keep applying till I get accepted somewhere! My new job is just 15 min south of Raleigh. So Woodrow and I are back in Raleigh, I have my horse there too! Woodrow comes to work with me everyday, and does Doggy Day Care at work, (He has lots of friends - and is a "favorite" at work). He has a springer spaniel friend - named Blanton who also does Doggy Day Care, and they are best buds! On our days off we usually head out to the barn or go walking. He enjoys swimming, digging holes and chasing squirrels and the goats at the farm!
There are lots of trails around Raleigh so Woodrow and I go on lots and lots of walks. I am still working on his hunting training, just have been bit slack lately with work being so busy with the virus. But he is still getting there. He is so keen for some squirrels - just got to get him used to the gun.
Exciting news too - Woodrow just got his teeth cleaned at work a couple weeks ago, so it was fun to help and be part of his procedure.
